Rounding

1. Label your place value columns

2. Box the digit in the column you are rounding to

3. Underline the digit one place to the right

4. If the underlined digit is 5 or more, the digit in the box goes up 1. If the underlined digit is 4 or less, the digit in the box stays the same

5. Everything before the box stays the same, everything after the box becomes a 0

6. Check for carries
