Short division

1. Set up your short division method

2. Write out your first 5 multiples of what you are dividing by

3. How many lots of the number on the outside fit into the first digit? (what is the biggest multiple that can fit into the number, what have I had to add to the biggest multiple to get to the number = remainder)

4. Put the lots that fit inside on top of the short division method, carry any remainders one place to the right.

5. How many lots fit into the next number?
